Please stop this bickering.
Frankly I and other moderators are sick and tired of moderating the threads and baby-sitting all discussions.
If you have guts to fight, why dont you all exchange each others phone numbers and addresss via private messages and fight it out.
Show some guts and fight with each other, if you have to fight, without being anonymous. Show some cojones and reveal each other's identity on Private messages and then fight. That way you can have the satisfaction of fighting on your own time and others dont have to know about it.
These forums are really becoming like a virtual online slums where everyone bickers with everyone...the only difference is that its anonymous and its online. Other than that, this isnt a tad bit different from the fights among the indigent destitute residents of the slums of Mahim and Matunga of Mumbai

I am interpreting this as I see it. I am not a lawyer to interpret this correctly. We should leave this to some good lawyers to interpret it correctly.
In one of the threads someone verified this with lawyers at fragomen.They said there is nothing to worry about this as long as you have your EAD and AP.
makes sense, i was alarmed only coz its a very latest Memo, and felt CIS might doing something new.
still, people using EAD/AP need to be very careful and proactively apply for EAD/APs beforehand. i think any lapse in between would cost them.
i wil shoot an email to Attorney and forget about it. thx 4 ur inputs.

I spoke to the German consulate in Washington DC yesterday and the guy there told me you don't need a transit visa for if you have Advanced Parole.
I sent an email to the Houston German Embassy and this is their reply.
"no transit visa is required, but you will not be allowed to leave the transit area"

This is probably the worst cheer-leading I've known. I get it that you are all excited and anxious to get stuff done but insulting people and calling them idiots makes you look a fcuking prick. Keep your suggestions to yourself and don't tell me how I need to raise my kids.
This is not cheer-leading and certainly this is not excitement. I am just pissed off to see people who have a stake in this event, not participate in it in anyway.
I don't care how it makes me look. And I am free to give my suggestions and will in future too, you are free to pick and choose what you implement :).
If this is the kind of diplomacy we (as in you all) are going to show in DC then we (as in you all) are doing more damage than good to the EB community. Your pompous cheer-leading act ain't gonna work with them DC diplomats. So I sure hope the IV leadership makes sure of your absence among important meetings.

From my understanding, somebody gets their card together with the letter, some others get them separately .Even the USCIS staff don't know how this happens. I think it is just random.

Thanks paskal for clarifying my thought, though I am really a Chinese.
Most of the post are about going back to India, but they all apply to China.
Corruption, pollution, competition, bad infrastructure, people's bad attitude, etc, etc, etc. But man, I really miss the authentic Chinese food.

btw there is a ton of authentic chinese food in ny/sfo etc same for indian - the bigger the city the greater chance you have of finding good food.

I am a little confused..........If the rest of your green card process (labour, I-140) was handled by the lawyer why are people filing for I-485 on their own?....Do the lawyers permit you do file on your own?.......If their are RFE's, wouldn't their be an issue?
The adjustment of status is the only process which you can file on your own. Until this point, i.e. labor cert and I140 have to be employer driven so some employers use lawyers to do this on their behalf of they do not have staff to file these applications. If there are RFE's the reality is that the lawyer will need to get the documents or information from you since it will apply to you so you are simply cutting the (expensive) middle man or woman out. In my case I work for a state university and it has done all paperwork without a lawyer at all, they have an international services department who takes care of immigration issues.

But looks like the the May 21st cut-off screws it up completely.
I have heard someone say that I might escape the new law if I get a Green Card before the law is enenforced on (10/1/2008). Does this assumption even hold any ground? Doesn't the proposed bill say that anyone who has filed I-140 after May 21st 2007 has to reapply regardless of where he is in the process.
Gurus please advice.
