USCIS is already did the ground work required to Use up all the left over visas. I am assuming based in the following theory
1) We have seen in the past in USCIS director interview ( i do not have the link for this) that USCIS and DOS is working closely ( This was lacking in the past) to approve as many cases as they can to use maximum VISA number.
2) By looking at the approvals from last 4 months, who ever i know whose PD's were current got their GC's.This indicates that USCIS is working efficiently then it was before to Use up all the VISAS.
3) Lastly i assume that DOS was moving the dates for EB2 consistently for last three visa bulletins and we all know that for August (last Quarter) it has moved by 2yrs+ (DOS and USCIS waited till last quarter to do this which makes more sense),I believe the reason behind this to use all the Visa Numbers and approve as many cases as they can.

Dont a CAN PR Card holder need to live in CA for 3/4 yrs before he gets to file for Citizenship? If you live in CAN for 3/4 yrs and have citizenship, you have basically no problems living in CAN. (not with the weather, only economic hardships). Now, I dont know whether people can get away with citizenship some how without living in CAN. If the GC mess is same here, why would you want to come back here on TN visa and live an uncertain life or with a plan B that takes you back to CAN incase of any discrepancy.

It doesn't cost you anything to make promises, also people are used to being ditched by politicians, so they don't complaint. even if labor market tests are the right way to go, there is no justification for the enormous bureacracy involved in the US EB system. Consider the time it takes to clear labor certification .. 4-6 months under PERM.Then why another 4-6 years after that to issue the green card ? If the person has already proven he is in a speciality occupation, why the additional bureacracy, and retrogression in the name of "diversity" ? Current policy just smacks of ambivalence.. immigrants are needed for the economy, yet the rules dont acknowledge their utility by offering a painless path to permanent residency.

I have been working here for 9 years and next year we plan to return back to India. I spoke to SSN customer service to find out my retirement and survivor benefits. Being an Indian citizen, all these are available only if me, or my dependants, have a valid residing status with the US, at the time of making the application. The contribution at this point is like getting a right to work.
Per the current grey SS Rules, you cannot claim SS benefits on retirement if you are an Indian citizen residing in India at the time of filing the claim. (Even if you have accumulated 40 credits)

We applied for Canadian immigration through Buffalo, NY in December 2005. I got a letter later in February 2006 stating that the principal applicant (me) must take IELTS. Yes, I sent all the experience letters and a letter of explanation that I have enough English proficiency having stayed in the US for about 11 years, with two bachelor's degrees from a US university, many years of experience, blah-blah-blah. Apparently, that was not enough. So, you better plan on taking IELTS. :)

I do not think it would be 10,000 primary. Probably around 3000 ~ 5000 primary applications. But if you consider dependents yes we may be talking about nearly 10,000 EB2I visas.

When some of us raised the issue of project managers from Indian IT companies applying under EB1 and using up those visas which would trickle over to EB2 and EB3, we were scoffed at. Some even questioned as to why these people cannot apply under "Multi-national executive" category, as they are "Multi-national" managers.
These guys misrepresent the number of people reporting to them (same managers in the same portfolio uses the same number of people to show in the application as reporting to them. This is true "reuse"), also "reuse" the portfolio value (how can 3-4 managers from the same client account be responsible for x million dollar business) and crooked company attorneys make up a stellar resume and case to file for them. The attorney pay comes from the employee's pocket.
Otherwise how would you explain the sudden rise in EB1 filings and a quota which never used to be over in previous years suddenly has cut-off dates.
If we keep quiet, these same clowns will use up all the visas and smirk at us for filing in the "lower" categories. What a backdoor to a green card! :mad:

This is not fair and good idea. what about people waiting in line for years and invested their money elsewhere because of this green card delays or those who do not have enough money and job in this market situation. All of the sudden you are brining this idea. This is not fair. This is kind of buying green card. There is a investment based green card category available for that. I request you to go through that channel if you are rich. Not all employment based green card seekers are rich. Please keep that in mind.

In my opinion MMS may be a nice person and may be a good economist, but it wasn't him who was running the govt. and it will not be him if he comes back again. It is a very common practice in India, a chemist will run a chemist shop but the License is in somebody else's name. Here also same thing happened, you saw Manmohan Singh on PM's chair, but it was somebody else who was running the show, and it is deception & dishonesty to your voters. He also headed one of the most corrupt & criminal cabinets in the history of India. People like Taslimuddin, Shibu Soren , Jagdish Tytler, Lalu had several criminal cases against them. On the contary you may not personally Like LK Advani, It's not just him who's going to rule the country if he comes to power. It'll be the whole cabinet, most what was during Vajpayee govt. which was much cleaner & much more agressive on developmental issues, they worked on certain agendas, lot of places where you see growth, were actually the good work done by the NDA govt. You may praise Laloo for all the Railway turn around, but the reality is the foundation was layed by then Railway Minister "Nitish Kumar", AI/AI became profitable under "Rajiv Pratap Rudy" . There were people like "Suresh Prabhu", "Yashwant Sinha", "Arun Shourie", all of them did tremendous Jobs in their cabinet. Yes...only that puupet brought those changes and reforms. This is from personal experience. I went through the canadian PR also and now have lost it. I have some friends in Canada and India who had to move because of failure to file for GC before 6yr H1. My view of Canada and other feedback is
It is not a first world country as they want you to believe.
The cost of living is very high though the salary is very low.
Cost of goods is almost the same or most of the time higher than in US.
Medical is by state (where applicable) but doctors are not good and the wait time is large.
Taxes are very very high.
I can go on and onnnn...
My advice which will save you almost 3k-6k is dont do it if you are waiting for GC. Else you can do it at a short notice. The other options are, if you dont like 5year wait time from India, is to come back in H1 to the US and again reapply. At least this way you know how your GC turned out.

Dear Attorney,
I was hoping you could help or answer this question.
My GC was approved last month after a very long wait time. Currently I am working for company B on EAD (not the GC filing employer). The question I had was can I continue to work for company B on a part time basis and join company A (GC filling employer).
Company A has a 9 month probation period I am worried if i quiet company B and company A fire me later then I will be with out job.
So I can work for company A (GC filing employer) full time and at the same time work part time with company B.
So this way if company A does fire me during probation period I continue with company B on full time basis.
Is this ok will it come to haunt me when I file for citizenship?

Can please somebody reply, is this a non profit organisation or everytime somebody ask's some innocent question he is bombarded with counter questions like have you contributed, I can understand the frustations when there are freebee's but please everybody has his limitations,this reminds of bania's in mumbai you will get your your grocerries only if you have paid your previous debt's.
