I support this campaign and will act upon any action item. One quick question, is the visa revalidation only for people who already hold H1 visa stamp on passport or COS from F1-H1 also falls in the same category?
It does not fall in that category

Good idea. Most of the Bay Area folks are in South Bay and I am sure would find it pretty easy to get to ICC.
Bluekayal
Bluekayal,
Did you get a chance to look at the ICC board of directors? They are exactly the kind of people who we need on our side (and in our bank account).
I may be getting carried away here -- but if we get coherent enough, wonder if we could do a fund raising event at the ICC.

How can it be less than 10 years ? Each year has 4 quarters. As long as you made your SS contributions while in LEGAL status, you will get SS payments when time comes.
It doen't matter if your were H, GC, EAD...
SSA has been cracking down on illegals however, so it might be wise to keep documentation of your leagal working status for future.
... and remember it's 40 quarters (which canb be acheived in as little as 8 years and 3-6 months if timed right.

Indeed if the major concern is the displacement of US workers and outsourcing, the Senator's should also send their questionnaire to companies such as Accenture (essentially a foreign corporation (http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d03194r.pdf)) and IBM Global Consulting among many other companies.
http://www.truthout.org/mm_01/4.dnc.gop.tax.report.pdf
Many of these corporations lobbying against cracking down on corporate expatriates and seeking to enjoy the tax breaks in moving offshore have been funneling campaign contributions to Republican federal candidates and parties. As the table on the previous page shows, Accenture contributed $237,584 (69% to the GOP) in the 2000 elections, and $207,081 (62% to Republicans) so far for the 2002 elections. Pricewaterhouse Coopers contributed more than $1.1 million (76% to Republicans), and more than $500,000 (81% to the GOP) already for the 2002 elections. Overall, these companies contributed nearly $2 million in 2000, with nearly another million thus far in 2002 – more than three-quarters going to GOP federal campaigns. These millions in contributions are clearly paying off.
Any surprise that Grassley received $4000 (http://www.congress.org/congressorg/bio/fec/?commid=C00300707&page=campaigns&order=TOTAL&cycle=2003-2004) from Accenture in 2003-2004?
So that the point is not lost, the two Senators should not seek to blame certain companies from only one country for the ills of outsourcing as well as attempt to blame the H1-B program for outsourcing when globalization is the order and reality of today's world. The fact that companies such as Accenture that specialize in outsourcing are not under similar scrutiny by the same Senators even when it is common knowledge their actions have resulted in the loss of US jobs raises serious questions about the Senators agenda in tackling outsourcing and in retaining US jobs in the US

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............
Things don't happen so soon, and that too with law makers. Our purpose of rally was to bring awareness in media, public and Lawmakers. and in that part I think we did reasonably good. Now, things are into Law makers hands and it may take time to resolve immigration system, as its been screwed from decades.
Keep your hopes alive and just wait and watch. There's nothing we can do more.

EAD, AP & FP notice are sent directly to the applicant. If you see the status of AP as document mailed then you should get within 2/3 days as they send by DHL. I got mine in 2 days, my wife also got in 2 days
This isn't neccesarily true for AP. I saw the same status, but my lawyer got AP approvals.

I see your point, I would still prefer browsing and having migranes than paying attention and doing all that the wife says (Impossible exists in one placec for sure-just try doing what she tells you for once:D)
It is not about you browsing on this forum continously..it is about you not paying attention to your wife continoulsy.:D:D
Even if there would no IV..wife will tell you the same for some other stuff you are following vigourously.

who said that after a GC ppl would settle down for a permanent job. No way
after GC i need to mint money for my family & enjoy life too. I dont know about others tho. I will settle down in DC Belt area where one can keep gettin consultancy jobs one after the other and make a million. Most of them are Fed jobs for which one needs to have a clearance and for that one needs to have GC.
we can make a lot of $$$ per hour on such job. Assignments vary from 6 months to 18 months. What more do u want.
why work two jobs and burn our ass off...
we need to enjoy ur life too. If we only made money n neva spent it therez no use of it.
I NEED A GREEN CARD PERIOD!!!:) :) :) :)

Hi, I got two "receipts":
Number 1: received date: July 2nd and notice date: September 4. Receipt number: WAC-XXXXXX, It was sent from CSC
Number 2: this is a "transfer notice" with Receipt Date Aug 31 and Notice date September 7th. It said that my case had been transferred to NSC because I reside in the NSC jurisdiction. Please note that I sent my application to NSC to begin with...
Strangely, the transfer notice was also sent from an envelpe with CA stamping.
So I called yesterday and asked why the case was transferred back and forth and whether the delay in between affect my sequence in the processing time.
Answer: 1.Why did it get transferred? Because NSC center is overwhelmed and need help from CA center. Then CA center was overwhelmed so the case has to go back to NSC.
2. Does the delay affect my sequence in the processing time?
NO, the "Received Date" of July 2nd is recognized.
My thoughts: You can call and verify the information. My first call got to a woman who did not know what she is talking about. I had to call the second time. Please share your info if you had called or will call. USCIS is unreliable and random. We need to verify a couple times and see whether the answers are consistent--this has been my strategy dealing with them.
Thank you very much.

Based on my receipt numbers and looking up on USCIS website, it appears my AOS application that was sent to NSC has been sent to California Center. I have not seen anybody's case being sent to CSC. Dunno how good or bad it is and whether it sppeds up/delays my EAD processing. Anybody had experience with CSC and got any of EAD/AP/GC approved from CSC.

Tony, IV core is not even willing to consider the $12/yr idea, leave alone $5/mth.
Send a message to Pappu and see what he says.
Well i see their point too, we have to show uscis we have 45000+ members. At the same time we have to get in the range of thousands of donors.
how to do both?
well right now mostly only Donors benefit from IVs efforts.

I don't have a muslim name. I am a Hindu so as my name.
Dubai, Bahrain i went there for project implementations. kuwait was my office place and i traveled those places for work.
But all those 3 countries are allies with US, people often consider Kuwait as US 53rd state. By any chance can we see that exempted countries list.
Maybe this is triggering delays but it should be ok.. do you have a muslim name? It may be that processing is slightly slower for muslims who have spent time in the middle-east.. it is a good idea to avoid travelling to places like Dubai etc - I know people get questioned more when they arrive from these places to the US.

class action lawsuit?? for using up too many visa's too fast?
wow. for once (& only once) I feel sad for USCIS. They are damned if they do, and damned if they dont. Usually all talk of class action lawsuits have been for visa numbers that they wasted by approving too slowly. Now another one for going too fast... :D
Seriously, I would be very very happy they are for a change working really fast so no wastage of numbers this time around. common guys don't you think is it good for us over all. may be we will not see some movement for some time but at least you know that we are not suffering because of USCIS's inefficiency.
