I am in a similar situation. My lawyer prepared the following letter which seems much simpler than what you had mentioned. I hope, its helpful. However, my company HR is not willing to even sign on this one. they omitted the word 'permanent' and also, removed the last sentence mentioning that i will continue as full time employee after receiving the green card. I regret joining a big company now. But, we are where we are and have to deal with it.

Do we need original I-485 receipt to file EAD/AP? Also do we need original receipt while going outside of US. I have scanned copies of my receipt notices. If absolutely required then I'll ask my attorney to send me the original receipts.

My AP online status says mailed on Sep 11 th. I have not received them yet.
My wife AP online status said Sep 11 th. We received them on Sep 21 st.
What is the normal time frame for receiving AP papers?
My wife's AP papers were mailed on 17th Sep but we are still waiting for them.
Are they sent to applicants home or attorney's office?

What do you mean? I thought we can only get it stamped outside US.
That is what my attorney kind of said as well. The thing is there is really no
"start date" on the visa stamp so clubbing the I797's is effectively the same
as honoring the second I797 (as far as the date on the I797 is concerned).
My only concern in that case if the officer at the port of entry has any issues because of the two I797's.
Are you planning to get it stamped when you are outside US?
I just talked to my attorney and he says that the US Embassy will club both the 797 dates and give you a combined visa. I still would like to confirm it with other sources as it sounds too good to be true.

Thanks for the responses. I have contacted my attorney and they are evaluating my case. Mean while I want to educate my self to see the available options.
SKI Dude12 - I did n't cut others to use labor substitution. My employer has a left over labor, which I used for my 140. The original guy has two labors and he left my employer.

2000-2002 was worst. Who didnt do job search during that time have no idea how it felt like.
I just came out of school then and it felt like sky is falling on me. Becoming desparate to survive, i went to work in a gas station. The lady owner didnt pay me after i worked for a week saying i am not concentrating enough. Then out of no where i found a technology job that paid 17$ per hour to keep me going and they did my H1 a year later in 2002. It just made me more strong i guess. But, it is a hell of an experience. Most of my freinds went for second masters or PHD to Keep the status.
It was so hard to find a job those days. I was myself unemployed for so many months along with a lot of my friends and everyone of us was highly qualified and experienced. Since 2002 end onwards everyone of us has a good job without any breaks.
I hope we don't get to see the 2001 recession again and I am sure it won't be that bad this time.
It is the financial sector which is paying for its own mistakes. It might spill over to the other sectors of the economy but not to the degree it happened in 2001. Just my opinion.

Any number lesser than 800,000 is good for us.. doesnt mean all is well.. we have to continue in our efforts with IV and we could have a better breakthrough..
Anything less than 800,000 is good... even a few hundred thousand less :) There's still a lot of work and patience required but a good news is a good news nevertheless.

I am not sure what your point is. I am contributing monthly and I am not trying to judge anybody here. All I am trying to say is there needs to be alternate ways of reaching people unless all the 8400 registered people frequent the forums here. The problem is my attorney is insisting that the letter that they sent for my employer's signature is "required" to successfully respond to this RFE.

I have written to USCIS director and Chairperson of the immigration sub-committee in the House Zoe Logfren about the plight of EB3-I applicants, I have metioned it is mainly because thousands of 245I(Asylum) people were given Green cards from this category. There should be some kind of relief for us. More people write her or other congressmen/Senators it will get more attention. As far as I know 90% of the Lawmakers doesn't know about 245 I cases...

I had seen a similar thread for NSC->CSC->NSC filers, but can't seem to find it anymore---did anyone whose cases got transferred to CSC receive FP notice?
I am a July 2nd filer, EAD/AP approved from CSC, case transferred back to NSC back in early Sept--still waiting for FP notice for over 4 months now.
PS: I am not desperate for FP notice---and i know it's going to be several years wait--just want to get the FP done and move to an apartment with lesser rent :-)

If they already had enough cases for this year why did DOS make dates current just 2 weeks back? Very Clear indication that government agencies are not co-operating internally, the only form of communication appears to be a public visa bulletin. How aweful.

Thanks for your help. I will try and see if they can issue a BC with my mother's name. I am not sure whether they can accomodate that in their fixed format, but its worth a try!
In your case, you have the birth certificate, so you don't need to submit the non-availability certificate. It is better you contact your municipal office and apply for your birth certificate with your mother's name included.

Man, you are so crazy about opening so many threads for the same topic. You cannot force people to send letters. And by this time those who wants to send letters had already sent to WH and IV. Give us some break. I come to IV site to get some information on immigration issues and what I get are 'n' numbers of threads for same issue. ---- ADMIN FIX.......

We have 3 more weeks for this campaign and we must do our best to get as many letters as possible.
A lot of people lack motivation because they just canniot pull the trigger and once in a while we must give some push.
I am a chapter lead and I do play an important role - go to the state chapters page and look up for my name, thanks for ur suggestion about contacting pappu

Just as in any other trade, surely there are many abusers, however, this economy fueled itself to the top of the world in a lot of things using talents from around the world and that was mainly via the temporary work visas including H1b. Now you might meet 1 person in say 100000 who falls into the catagory you mentioned and none of us entertain such people with any respect.

Thanks for starting this thread. I had completely forgotten about my passport expiring in Jun 2008. I have a question. Is it mandatory to fill name of spouse on the renewal form, if you are married. Let me know.

my I485 lud got updated today , but the case status is still showing pending, when i called the officer she said they dont know what is lud ? but she said the case is pending.. any idea what does it means when lud is updated does that mean the case is now ready to be assigned by officer ?????:confused:
