Sri Lankan Tamils may not be Indian citizens but are etinic Indians and that is what their problem is and it is the problem in several other places like Malasiya, Fiji, Trinidad etc. these people are still called Indians in these countries and being discriminated. India being a powerful nation should protect the rights of ethnic Indians, but it doesn't....most or all of us know the reasons, it is being ruled by a lame duck govt. who cannot protect citizens living within the Indian boundries, so even if they try to interfere in other countries affairs, I'm sure even a smal coutry like Sri Lanka has guts to say Shoooo!!!! to our foreign Minister. This Democratic-Socialism was never tried anywhere else in the world.It was the so called vision of Nehru(albeit cut-copy-paste).
Interestingly explanation he gave for advocating his recipe was the same explanation you are giving for 'why it is difficult to rule India'
He said since India is young country it needs gentle intervention from state to get rid of the existing social-economic disparities. His formula resulted in bureaucratic bottlenecks, red tape, widened existing socio-economic disparities ,gave rise to mafia culture and the list goes on making Nehruvian socialism synonymous to failure in Indian dictionary.His dynastic descendants tried to push it under carpet as long as they could .Result: we see people thinking Nehru was a visionary.

Therefore, India is victim of its own division and diversity. India is untied or born in 1947 because of British rule. Infact, there is no country called Republic of India before 1947. Indian constitution (or concept of united India) is brand new compare to regional history. Naturally, regional interest always prevails. So ruling India is still a new and uphill task. 60 years is very less to come to conclusion. Thats why, all congress PMs had failed in reforms. And now in the information age, India become materialistic, everybody wants everything. So naturally corruption increases. So one can not blame just congress alone for the mess.

it is the threat of a massive lwsuit from immigration lawyers association that made uscis backtrack and open up july 2 filing..we are all benefeciaries of that.
itz not our flowers or the rally that did the trick it is the threat of lawsuit.
if we consult lawyers we can check if we have a case and on what grounds. even f not anything else we may win on things like 3 yr AP relaxed ac21 rules etc. these are operational policies and dont need congress. USCIS can change these rules.
there is nothign to lose but a lot to win.
we can even appeal on the grounds that USCIS policies led us in to a bonded labor situation unable to change employer , foregone career choices and income potential..etc.. this violates the concept of free will and just labor practices. Many rules in AC21 and AP still try to tie us down to the employer who has already enjoyed > 5 years of our hardwork.

This whole conversation was not intended to be personal and if it hurt you in any way then we all apologize ,most of the people here might be in or against amway/quixter but they are all more pissed of by the way they are harassed by so called IBO's with the way they treat their prospective clients.
Why not just move on if somebody says no or gives a excuse to the IBO's, if anybody does
really feel interested they will ultimately come back to you guys but why harass them with multiple calls and personal visits.

Hi,
I have an approved H1B petition, but was given 221(g) during consular interview due to lack of license to practice my proffession in US. They instructed me to submit the license within one year to stamp the H1B visa.
Now I am comming to US on a Visitors visa to write the licensing exam and to get licenced.
I am aware of the possibility of changing status from Visitors visa to H1B after getting licence without leaving US, since I already have an approved H1B.
But I came to know that USCIS will take around 90 days to approve status change from Visitors visa to H1B.
Kindly clarify whether I can start working for my H1B employer immediately after filing status change with USCIS, or do I need to wait till the approval, to start working.
Also do I need to include 221(g) I received after my H1B consulate interveiw for the status change application.

There is difference between a common man and a celebrity. We did make noise about Abdul Kalam and Fernandez when the news came out. I think SRK was right to make an issue out of it.
I have been through secondary once and frisked about 4-5 times as a "singled out" case. Man I hated it, whole flight was watching what was going on. What if I make an issue? It will be dismissed as everyone goes through it.
When I went for secondary exam , I was released with 5 mins of questioning but was made to wait 30 mins. The secondary officer was nice, but the primary inspection officer was really mean. She picked on me coz I was smiling in the queue and talking to other people. and I laughed at the jokes cracked by other immigration officers.
3 out of 4 frisking incidents were insensitive and derogatory.
But voice of celebrity has more credence to it.

instead of dividing those who have house and those who will buy if they get gc ..we should focus on more visas and faster approvals (maybe temporary green cards !!) ..no need for more divisions ..there will be congress session for second stimulus bill ..IS THERE any chance that we can push for recapture by telling the congress that 200K highly skilled immigrants are waiting for GC and after that most likely they will buy a house ???? (give a rough figure ..no one will verify the exact number) please think about this !!! lets have another campaign as soon as possible

Currently, the EB2-I wait time is 20+ years. Even if there are no EB1 applications the wait time would reduce to 10+ years. EB3-I wait time is probably more than the life span of most individuals.
It is major contributing factor to Eb2 and eventually EB3 retrogression. And something needs to be done to make sure that so called project managers from these IT firms from India are not able to apply in this category.

We get engaged in all kinds of discussions EB1 Vs EB2, EB-I Vs EB ROW. bulletin predictions...But we all skilled immigrants can not figure out how to unite and resolve the big issue of backlog. When one person suggests any initiative( flower campaign, call campaign, letter campaign etc.) more 20 people hammer him or her and spend their full energy in proving how suggested idea will not work. Next time the guy does not even think about suggesting anything. On top of that some will come up with their line" Have you contributed, If not then do that first".Our lack of unity will keep us here for a long time to come. In coming months and years, some people will lose interest, stop visiting this site and move on. Others will come to see if there is any POSITIVE news and some will still keep fighting over the issues of EB1 vs EB2 vs India vs China Vs ROW.

Current homeowners who are waiting for their GC MUST also be exempted from cap. This clause has to be there. Without having any gurantee of getting GC these folks have invested their savings in buying home even when the prices were high, WHY because they had real intent of making US their permanent home. So these people should too be exempted from EB cap.
A better justification would be that doing so will avoid bringing new supply on the market from people moving to their native countries.
FWIW, the home I bought in 2001 is paid off, but I wouldn't mind buying another one if this comes through.

All you guys forgetting main thing. Visa bulliton is not a law. It advises consular posts and USCIS to accept and approve 485s and schulde interviews in consular posts to issue IV. It is just a advisary notice to other federal agency by DOS. It is not a binding document.
The law is "an immigrant visa should immediatly available at the time of filing AOS application" . If visas number is not available on 3rd july, DOS has a right, under the federal law, to advise USCIS and consular posts to stop accepting and approving any applications and stop issuing IV at consular posts on any date.
If you need more evidence, browse the adjudicator field manual for 485. It says "unless any interm notice issued by DOS, visa number is available to all in entire month". Therefore the key is "unless any interm notice issued by DOS". If DOS issues notice to USCIS on June 3rd, USCIS has to stop accepting any 485.
