Any means of sending this would be helpful. Lets make it as easy as possible for people. For now - lets see if we can get over a 1000 people to do this.
Ideally in addition to posting your letter on www.WhiteHouse.gov/Contact, it would help if you send a letter to your Senators office as well.
Instead of sending emails, wouldn't it be better to send USPS mail or faxes?

It was a relief. No change on the work or personal side of life. Still at the same job. It pays well (always has) and I like it.
- What did you do on the day you received it?
Called my wife (who was in India). Bought a bottle of 'Blue Label' and polished it off in one night. Skipped the next day at work b'cos of the hangover.
** For people who wonder what happens if your GC is approved when you are in India. My wife was in India when our GC was approved. I did not mail her the GC. She entered US using Advance Parole. At the POE, she was asked if she was aware that her GC was approved. She did say "yes" and she was welcomed into US without any hassles.
- How did the long wait upset your life?
The wait was long (PD : May 2002 , GC AD : June 2007). The initial stage (2002 to 2004) was carefree (not worried about GC. More focussed on establishing career). The middle stage (2005 to 2006) was painful. We were in the I485 stage for almost 3 years. Then the final stage (2006 onwards) was carefree again. We had given up on the GC process and had decided that it will come when it has to come. We even bought a house in 2006 and decided to live life as we always wanted to. And then suddenly the GC arrived in June 2007 (interestingly there was no email .. nor any LUDs).
The only frustrating thing in the I485 stage was the annual renewal for EAD, AP. Fortunately, my employer paid for all that (including spouse). But it was hassle to get the papers ready, fill in the forms, interact with the immigration department ..so on. This was a little irritating every year.
- How did immigrationvoice help you during this long wait?
The immigrationvoice leaders are very inspiring. It is very heartening to see everyone so excited and willing to stand up for a common cause. Of course, there are the occasional "wet towels" in the forums who want to see the negative in everything. But I have seen the IV leaders learn to ignore them.
- Would you like to continue your support to immigration voice and help others waiting?
Sure. We are hard pressed for time. But have contributed financially in the past (anonymously). We believe in doing a deed and not talking about it. (so please do not read more in the financial contribution part). We will continue to send in the few dollars as usual.
- Any advice for everyone?
It is very easy to say that do not let this process affect you. And we are not going to say it. It is like preaching to the choir.
All we can say is "Hang in there". Plan for your future. Have your goals and work towards them. And we hope GC is just one of them.

If I were a person of Latino origin, I will be very angry with folks who assume that all Latinos are illegals.

They change this number later in the year, since some of the FB visa allocated are retruned back to the pool (if the person getting GC does not enter the country in specified time).
They allocated a huge chunk of EB2 Visa to South Korea 7125 (currnet all through the year). Same with EB3 SK got 4727 (close to sum of India and China).
So i agree things will move slower this year but still move forward. We will not see an EB2/3 India/China Current any time soon unless they screw-up again like july 07.

I believe pre adjudicated means, most of the processing is done, and waiting for the visa number availability.
Nothing will happen for you on the info pass, hopefully you will come back with a good news.

Guys as someone else has posted earlier, there is NO basis for asking for this.
CP was created for getting your GC if you are OUTSIDE the US. It is now being conveniently used by people within the US to circumvent certain issues and to get the process approved earlier. EAD and AP are for people WITHIN the US.
So please talk to a lawyer about finding out how to convert a CP to an AOS and you can apply for your EAD and AP. IV cannot keep adding to the list of things to ask for. This point has been stated by the core members over and over again. Currently you cannot have it both ways ie get ur GC quicker through CP AND in the meantime enjoy the interim benefits of the EAD/AP.
Whether you have contributed or not is besides the point. The contribution is to speed up the GC process not for what each individual or smaller set of individuals want for their custom needs.
BOTTOM LINES:
1) IV is fighting for the ENTIRE GC process to be faster.
2) IV Cannot keep changing its goals and what it stands for.
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but that is the way things are and have always been.

As per the data, so far people with notice date (on 485, from NSC) before sept 1st have got their FP notices (except few people). So, I presume if someone's case transfered back to NSC from CSC before spet 1 st, he or she should expect their FP notice soon.
Obviously, we are not going get our notices if there several people lined up with NSC notice dates before our transfer dates.
This is just my logical conclusion, may be incorrect

Guys,
I am trying to mock the bill. Cant we take a joke?
I have been to DC 4 times this year in 2007 and I or other core group members are not going to give up on amendments. And Aman has been there every 2 weeks. I am not kidding. He has been there either on Mon-Tue or Thu-Fri 2 times each month doing meetings in Senate offices and educating and finding sponsors. We are not going to give up now after all that hard work just because the bill is ridiculous.
Just because I am taunting the injustice of the bill doesnt mean that I or others have given up. WE ARE in position to put in amendments. How much, I dont know. But pretty sure that we will make a good amount of difference.
But dont let your hopes down because of a sarcastic comment on the bill. Take it as a joke or ignore it.
plz don't make jokes of that nature. lots of hopes/prayers/hard work are put in your direction. wouldn't like you guys to loose focus or hope. fight till the end.

Damn, man it feels like you are reading my mind.
Irrespective of the immigration impact and its direct effect on me, I have tried analyzing the situation at the macro level and I end up at the same conclusion.
Health care, immigration, social security insolvency etc. no one cares about anything. Companies want to bring skilled labor in and it is being decided by a lottery!! I mean give me a God damn break. In the supposedly knowledge-driven economy, skilled workers are being selected by a lottery!
Medical emergencies are the leading cause of bankruptcy and there is just talk on the issue, no action.
Farms are shutting down and moving operations to Mexico. So now the oil will come from Middle East, manufactured goods from China and food from Mexico. And people are Ok with that because "companies just need to pay higher wages to *American* workers" So on top of $ 4 /gallon gas, we will be paying $ 8 for tomatoes.
There are not the marks of a prospering or forward-looking nation. May be I am becoming cynical as I grow older and may be things are no better in other countries like Canada, UK etc. But sometimes I feel as if I am watching a bad comedy show in slow motion. I question myself if my son, a US citizen by birth, will end up growing in a 2nd world country.
America was built by immigrants who came here with no sense of entitlement...just hope.....whether it was the Jamestown settlers....the Bavarian farmers....the Irish escaping the potato famine....the East Europeans fleeing communism.....and the recent Indian, Chinese, Japanese and other Asian populations looking to escape corruption and nepotism back home....
I fail to see how people these days forget this....one of my good friends acknowledges that his grandparents came as refugees fleeing strife in Europe but at the same time curses immigrants for the current woes.....and this guy is not a racist....an entire generation has been brought up to use the i-word as the substitute for the n-word since that is now politically incorrect....:mad:
Like the Klan leaders of yesterday, the Lou Dobbs of today never desist in blaming the 'immigrants' for everything....:(

I ask because I got a LUD change on our AP on Nov 2 but the message is still the same as it was when i got the receipt notice. No mention of AP approved.
Ans: Yes, I already mentioned that in my write up. First (and only)LUD change happened for me on 10/1*/2007 and that is the approval date as per lady officer in USCIS. During LUD change message content never changed for me and still it is the same which is as under. so currently I have not received physical AP papers yet and on line status still does not show our AP aaproved yet I found our APs are approved during this infopass appointment.

I am in a similar situation and have a very simple question. Can I port from EB3 to EB2, while on EAD? I do not have a valid H1. AFAIK porting needs re-filing a labor application, hence the confusion.
