It's really strange the surge in non-legal issues threads..
If the poster had any genuine hope of getting help she wouldn�t be posting it on a forum for foreigners who obviously have no lobbying power and if we did we will be using it for ourselves first.

My I-140 is approved in 2006 and now i have filed my I-485. My employer has not given me any kind of doucments like I-140 approved document or Labour Substitution document. The only form he gave is ETA 9035E after my substitue labour was approved. If I want to change job after 180 days using AC21 do I need any of doucments from this employer. If my employer is not ready to give , what is other alternative. Plesae advice.
It would be best to get the labor certification application to know the exact job title, job description and wage rate. If employer is not ready to share a copy of labor certification application, file FOIA application to get the copy of the labor certification application. It may take up to 1-2 months to process FOIA.

If your 140 was approved prior to sending 485 application, the lawyer would have sent you a copy of approved I-140 with your 485 application to USCIS. What you are saying..about consulting companies not having a "job" at hand to offer is the mis-use of the Visa. This is the loop-hole that cause small time shops to jsut bring a lot of people onsite and then start sending resume arranging interviews etc............................................... ...........

Don't compare this to bribe. You lack judgment. That is the way consulting business work irrespective of whether it as an Indian owned company or American company.
Regarding "job at hand", as long as the company is paying wages to the employee from day1, there should not be an issue. H1B laws don't say you have to have an end client to sponsor an H1. Employer needs to pay the employee from day1. That is it. Only outsourcing companies can guarantee an end client.
Don't site examples of companies that are not following rules to make a point.

I called the customer service # on 11/04 and the guy told me that he is sending email reguest for my FP and I got FP notice (my attorney's office also got one) on 11/13. Hope this helps.

I am working in tech field doing techie stuff (like System.out.println ;)) I did PMP in Jan 2008.. so far i didnt get a chance to use my PM skills (thanks to USCIS for not giving me GC yet and limiting my ability to look for better job)
I havent done MBA so I did learn few (project) management lessons while preparing for PMP.. although I wouldnt say that real world project management generally follows what is published by PMI
For studying PMP, I would highly recommend reading PMP Prep book by Rita Mulcahy.. I never read PMBOK... Also, give few mock up exams (there are plenty available on net)...
I am preparing for CFA level 1.. and man PMP was much easier! (just comparing one certification to the other - one with 5 books to read and other with only 1 book!)

What reason did you give for declining this promotion? what kind of company is this ? how big ? would your salary increase ?
Maybe if you answer this, I could think of something..but as of now..if its a good company and you like it..explain to them the nitty gritties about how change in occupation, classification, salary etc would jeopardize your GC process...i can give more suggestions if you want to send me a PM..

You need to file form 4852. That is super easy and I have filed it once.

You employer cannot pull a single hairstring from your head. So do not worry about the legal notice. That is all bull. He is probably worrying day and night about the DOL complaint you made.
What you need to, further, is go to the local IRS office and talk to one of the employee about not getting your W-2. Not providing a W-2 is serious issue.

I'm not sure anything happens with these letters etc. We need something more concrete, something that grabs attention. Last time we did the flower campain, this time we need to do something different again. My idea was the two cents campaign (link in sig). But I'm sure you all have your ideas too and if we can come up with something unique that would be great. We need something more than just letters to the whitehouse. Maybe we can pick just one senator each week or each month or congressman who does not support legal immigration bills and send letters to him/her in co-ordination. If one person gets 1000 letters on the same day about a topic it might make the news?

We got FP notices for me & my wife on 01-25-08. Finger printing date is Feb 6th, 2008. Same date, same time for both of us. Just perfect!
We filed our I-485 application/EAD/AP on July 6th, 2007.
Ours is a transferred case (NSS-CSC-NSC).
Did not open any service request.
Looks like they started processing transferred cases.
People who have been waiting should be getting their FP notices now.
