I have applied for I-140 under PP in last week. I guess that it will take 8-10 days. Do I require to wait for medical test till my I-140 get approved? Can I do it now?
I-140 has nothing to do with your medical exam. The report provided to you by the surgeon is valid for 12 months. You should plan on getting the exam done now.
Only downside is that if you do not revceive your I-140 receipt by end of July (not likely) and the dates retrogress, you will not be able to file 485 till the time your dates become current. In that case you will loose $400-$500.
Small risk in my books.
Also, Someone correct me If Iam wrong, till last year, the surgeon general could attach another form with the medical report that would extend the validity of Form 693 beyond 12 months. Iam not sure if this is still available. There is a good chance that by the time USCIS starts processing some of the applications filed in July it will be past that 12 month period.

I just have a saving account in India and I used to transfer more than 10 k while I purchase anything back at home. My quest is my money was never there sitting in bank more than a month, do I need to disclose this to IRS?

I called up the LA and Boston embassy and they are just playing the recorded message stating that transit visa is required. Pay $90 and all that stuff.
Also, emailed them and waiting for a reply.
I think I will have to cancel the ticket and bear the loss.

I do not think BEC will clear even the RIR cases by 9/2007. There are several RIR cases stuck in that awful black hole back to year 2002.

Canadian PR looks good and donot need ATV if you are travelling to Canda, but its unclear if its exempted when travelling to 3rd country.

If someone does not have a NRE or NRO account, just a simple savings and Checkings account with FD (Called CD's here) ---------- All of this is in GOVT owned Banks, Like SBI, Punjab national bank, Vijaya Bank etc.
Before coming to US the sum of money in all these accounts and FD's (Fixed Deposits) was less than $10K. {Principle + interest}
Now after we came here we funded these accounts with money sent from US (TAX PAID MONEY WAS SENT FROM US BANK ACCOUNTS).
Also the interest which we get on these Accounts annually do not exceed $10K............... I believe that they should not look into the Principle amount (since this was already a tax paid money)
Apart from this no other source of income is there in India.
Do we still need to file this form ??

can someone suggest what is the best bet for someone currently in India ... get all the test done and get final letter from a Doc here. I am planing to fly my wife here for 2 days in July and due to time issues :confused: it might be hard to get all the tests done here .. .

No way, 2 days would be sufficient. The medicals would atleast take a week depending upon what all needs to be done. The TB test itself will take 48-72 hrs. Then the blood report will take 3 days. IF you have to do the test for mumps and so on then it will take 3-4 days as well. So together it will take a week to get the sealed papers.
Unless if you can convince your doctor to let her go after 4 days.

The entire memo talks about people who accrued unlawful presence. This is not applicable for regular AOS applicants like us.
The lawyer who posted this without a link to original memo is trying to scare people to drive more business to himself.

-The German Visa rules changed as of 5-Apr-10.
-The German consualte officially advises to get Transit Visa.
-But people with similar situation travelling via Frankfurt posted that Transit visa is not enforced at the German airpots.
-You need to decide if you want take the risk when travelling with your family or play it safe by getting the Transit visa before leaving from US.
This is my Story:
-Reserved my tickets via Air-India during March-10 for travel in June for myself and family.
-Travel Agency confirmed no Transit Visa is needed.
-Was checking back in May at the German Consulate website and found that they have removed the exeption clause for Adavanced Parole.
-Sent an E-mail to Boston Consulate. Here is the reply I got from them.

Sorry, as for now you will need an Airport Transit Visa.
Sorry, also an "Advance Parole" does not exempt anymore from the requirement of the need of an Airport Transit Visa.

I advice everyone to do the same. And BTW IV needs green (contributions) than me. I would prefer members gave some greens (money) to IV than give green dots to me.

Rightly said Devils_Advocate !!, one more thing is many Republicans support CIR too but still we dont have 60 votes to pass this measure.
Unfortunately, This measure is bound to fail when unemployment is 10% and politicians dont want to anger their base in an election year.
Hate to be the party pooper, but its better to see the reality than be lost in the illusion. The facts:
We a have bitterly and an acrimoniously divided Congress
The democrats are NOT together on this one i.e blue dogs, conservative Dems etc.
We have game changing mid terms coming in.
Democrats DONT have super majority in the Senate any more.
And MOST of all we have a president who has PUBLICLY said that this bill will not pass this year due to the lack of political clout.
This is just a ploy to rally up the hispanic votes by Reid, don't pin too much/any hopes on this, the writing on the wall is unfortunately very clear, not worth the heart break. :(
