And here are some of the bills in numerical order in which they were listed in Senate

4. Medicare Prescription Drug Price Negotiation Act of 2007

Also on an average it takes about 10 Business days to debate and vote on bill.
Lookup at the senate calendar (working days week offs etc)
Lets assume (when have things gone right for us?) everything goes according to the order listed above. We have 80 days of work before CIR comes to senate.
Considering that senate takes weeks off (first from Feb 19-23, second from April 2-9). I don�t see how they can start CIR before May at the latest.

But I ask you again. When was the last time we were lucky?

There's no catch at all.....according to my lawyer. He said even if you come back on AP, you can still work on your H-1B so long as it's valid.

As far as I know, Until your apply for a H1 extension or H1 transfer on "Parolee" status, your status continues to be "Parolee". Lets consider this.
You have 3 years remaining on your H1.
You go out and come back on "AP".
Your status changes to "Parolee".
You do H1 transfer (or) your employer files for H1 extension at the end of the 3rd year.
Now your status changes back to "H1".
Here is the catch. You are a "Parolee" until your "H1" transfer or extension. In case your I-485 gets rejected during your "Parolee" status, you gotta leave the country (or) file for an appeal and proceed with H1 transfer (or) H1 extension to retain your H1 status.

It does not charge some of the fees - like the appraisal fees, etc + reasonable, competitive rates. They also guarantee to get all of the closing done within a certain period of time, which they usually beat by at least a couple of days! We have our mortgage with them presently. There is also Sallie Mae Home Loans (http://https://www.smhl.com/index.html)! We had our first home loan with them, but then they sold it to AmTrust Bank (http://https://www.amtrust.com/Personal/Pages/home.aspx) formerly known as Ohio Savings Bank. Our rates or anything else did not change. We live in AZ.
You should window-shop around as much as you can, but remember to initiate all of your inquiries within a 2-week period - so it is counted as a single hit on your credit history!

Now coming back to my question. My labor is approved and I-140 is pending.
I have declared that my employer is applying for my GC.
Should i carry documents proving that my I-140 is pending and that labor is approved?
My 6th year H1-B will be expiring in Aug 31 2007 and i have valid I-797 approved upto that date. I know i can get 3 years extension anytime with approved I-140 or atleast 1 year H1-B extension.
Will that be a problem at all? I am asking this because, the numbe rof months for which stamping will be valid will be just few months.

I got my visa stamped in june 2006 and expiry was august 2007. Usually your employer will never give you any Lc or I140 approval docs. Good luck trying to get those :). They dont ask for any docs related to permanent residency as long as you have a valid 1797A.

I spoke to 2 attorneys...we just cant trust them..it will be finally we who will get screwed big time..
1 said, we can get an RFE asking for the latest i94.
2nd said...in the worst case senario..we will get the H1 issued without the i94..which means that we have to back to home country for H1 stamping..that will be a nightmare in Madras in my case..!!

Hi Everybody, I have a question to the people who already invoked AC21? Do we need the I-485 receipt to invoke AC21 or can we use I-797C(Biometrics notice) as proof of AOS pending? My employer and employer's attorney did not agree to give me the I-485 receipt. I filed FOIA but did not get anything yet. I could file EAD and AP online and send the biometrics notice as supporting doc, received EAD and AP is pending. Does anybody know if there is any other way to get the I-485 receipt or is it really needed for AC21?
I did not get the receipt notice, open SR and received a standard letter stating that duplicate receipt notice will not be issued. I spoke to one of the IOs and took info pass, the said "copy of FP receipt notice issued to finger print you for I-485 can be used as proof of I-485 filing". Additionally, the letter that I received from USCIS also serves as proof of filing :). You only need a proof of 485 filing to avail AC21, receipt notice is one of the way to prove and alternative proof can be used. I confirmed this with my company attorney, he was in a same page - my receipts were lost in transit.
