Can you let us know know why you cudn't get it corrected at the CBP? Its clearly a mistake by the POE officer. Try other CBPs till you succeed. thats the best option you have. I've done it myself. First time, when I called them to get an appointment they said it can't be done. I called them again and got an appointment without any problem (obviously it was somebody else who attended the phone). Went in person and explained it clearly and the officer accepted the mistake and apologized on behalf of the POE Officer. He gave me a new I-94 and struck out the new number and wrote the old I94# on it. He also updated it in the system.
So, please give it a try before trying out other options. HTH!

I am planning to make a trip to Cannda or someplace to get a new I-94 as soon as i get my new passport (i had sent it for renewal on june 2nd). But i am a little worried about my status if i am unable to make the trip.
So my question is what will be my status after 16th sep 2007 (once i file for I485 (first week of July2007) and my I-94 expires on 16th Sep 2007)?

I think USCIS is working towards reducing the backlogs. It could be starting point for all EB community to feel better

Do you really think IV can convince USCIS to do a regulation change? Hee Hee...
Who can get regulation change done? Companies like Microsoft, Oracle etc...they have the bandwith and financial muscle to lobby and make regulation change happen....
IV can grab and influence media...let's just leave it at that....AND BOY WHAT A JOB IS IT DOING!!....HATS OFF TO IT....THE FLOWER CAMPAIGN WAS A GENIUS IDEA.....AS LONG AS ONE CAN INFLUENCE NY TIMES/WASHINGTON POST/NPR TO REPORT ON IT....THEY HAVE SCORED 100 out of 100 in their media blitz!

In central NJ, I called over 9 Doctors and only two of them had an appointment before July 1st -2nd week.
One is Dr. Neil M.S. Estrella in Clark, NJ. Appointment was available for Monday June 18th. But the fees for the exam plus vaccines is $430. The second one is Dr. Marcel Stern in Piscataway, NJ 08854. Appoitnment was available for Thursday June 21st. The fees was more reasonable at $350.
If you're in Central NJ, Hurry, Hurry Hurry.
P.S - If some of you get other appoitnments in NJ, post here so that others will know and not waste time calling other doctors.

Though my PD is quite old , I didn't get to my I-140 filing until Jan 2007 thanks to the labor certification backlog hell. It was filed premium and approved in Jan 07 itself. And also my I-485 was filed in last week of July. So the information USCIS has is kind of recent. And I have stayed with the same employer so far (One of world's well reputed & largest IT company)
I hope they look at these facts and dont bother sending an RFE or EVL and send me the straight approval ! (Fingers crossed and touch wood and whatever else !)

Best wishes to all of you who are seeking advice or are in a visa process of any sort.
My question here if any one could kindly help me: I came to work in 2002 with a J1 visa, stayed for the 3 stipulated years under the J1 visa. I wanted to changed my visa for a H1B so I got a waiver, and then I went through the process the year that they had the lottery for H1B, I made the lottery, but sadly after paying all my fees, sending all the documents that my lawyer asked my employer for that time, I did not obtain an H1B.
I do not understand this. The waiver H1 is specofically exempt from the H1B quota, why did you need the lottery? If you made the lottery though, why did you not get the H1B?
Last year I could come back with another J1, I stayed in my country for 3 years, so my new employer applied for a J1 without using my waiver, as there was not need for it.
Why did you not get an H1B this time?? Why come back on a J1 after all that history?
Now my question, I do want to change my status from my present J1 to an H1B, and I would like to know if I can use the previous waiver that I obtain with my first J1 in order to waive the 2 year residency restriction on my present J1 so that I could apply for the H1B with a new employer?
You cannot. The J1 is a "scarlet letter". Each time you take one, you need a waiver for it. You will have to get one again. By the way, did you have a physician J1? My answer about the H1B being exempt was based on that presumption.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My and my employer talked to National Customer Service Center and they dont provide any information other than opening service requests. My employer asked her to connect him to an IO and she said she doesnt have authorization to do so. what the heck? Is there anyway to talk to an IO rather than the customer service rep. Please let me know if anyone has done that before and how they were able to get to them.

Friends, my question was timing of porting priority date, to put the question in one line as below,
Earlier I-140, PD Mar 06 from company A if i file new I-140 Eb2 from company B, i am aware that i can port priority but the question is when this can be done, when I apply new I-140 or when after I apply new I-140 or after i get my second I-140 approved.
