This news article title is misleading. This guy was not taken away by immigration officials for participation in the rally. In fact the articles says that he had to be deported in 2005 and he was taken away in that connection. Try to be a little sensible my friend.
On a separate note, it takes nothing to make a posting online and express your views anonymously. 90 percent of the people shudder at the thought of contacting any political office or signing any petition lest they have to mention their names!!! You are in USA not some dictatorship! So get up and fight for your rights or just keep quiet and read the postings here.

First go to Infopass dont ask about status "Demand" Interim EAD. Under administrative rules USCIS is supposed to either adjudicate the case or issue interim ead with in 90 days. The process is you go to Infopass you DEMAND interim EAD they send the email to service center whether they can adjudicate the case they either will or will send you interim EAD.

Here is another suggestion: a lot of members here will have their own webpages or blogs. How about putting banner ads of IV on those sites with a link to IV. I have created 2 banner ads in vertical and horizontal sizes that can be posted. IV team, if you like you can post it on the publicity page. Let me know if you you would like to make changes to the text on these ads and I can send another version.
The 2 banners are in 180x150 size and 728x90 size. This forum does not allow files to be posted beyond a certain pixel dimension, thus I am posting a zip file too.
IV can even ask some lawyer websites that are sympathetic to our cause to put it on their sites.

I called all of them and got 5 of my colleagues to do it to.
Among the 5...2 of them got motivated enough to IM/call other friends and get them to do it to..
I also asked the aide/person answering the call about the current stance of the congressman/congresswoman on this bill and got responses for only Congressman Guiterrez and Davis who support the bill and Congressman King who opposes the bill.
I took 20 mins to call and 40 mins to personally get my 5 colleagues to hear me out and agree to call ASAP.

You can get non work SS to obtain a federal benefit (e.g. tax rebate)

Needing an SSN for tax purposes (including banking and financial transactions) is not a valid nonwork reason.
There is a catch-22 situation in the bold part, but SS admin said to give it a go at the local SS office, mileage may vary. But better if can get letter from IRS. The 'benefit' is the tax refund. I take that you are from India. Do you think that the education system and the cultural upbringing could be better for your kid in India than in US?
it depends on which country you come from, if you are from India or China may be it works out good for you, as those two economis are growing so fast.
but personally, I am just used this culture here, don;t it's good or bad, I just don't have courage/strenght to go back and start all over again, besides, my daughter is born and raised here don't know how she is going to cope up in India,
so option for me at this time no, I may not go back

Last week they called DBEC and the person from DOL said they can't give the details and we need to wait as my case will be coming up soon. Lot of my firends you have PD's much later than me have already received the 45 day letter. I am not sure what is going on with my case.

I just have a saving account in India and I used to transfer more than 10 k while I purchase anything back at home. My quest is my money was never there sitting in bank more than a month, do I need to disclose this to IRS?

Yes, as long as sum of all foreign accounts >= US $10,000 at any time. In this case, since one account value exceeds US$ 10,000 value, it does meet the reporting criteria.

I filed my application with 864 and had no issues. It was approved last year in July along with my wife's app.
Who is the primary applicant's sponsor in our case? It is the employer. Does it mean that the employer has to sign off on the affidavit? For spouses and children, primary applicant can sign it off. If the employer has to sign off on the affidavit, I doubt my employer will do it.

Again on page 33/34 there is an example of AOS family based application.
As per that example, assuming that applicant was unlawfully present before AOS application, if USCIS accepts I-1485 application and issues a receipt notice, he/she is in legal status even if I-485 ultimately gets rejected.
We are switching to panic mode for no reason. Thanks to that attorney who is trying to create panic among AOS folks.

They are talking about how to bring the farm workers in nthe security bill if they meet specific conditions.
Who is "they"? Dems or Republicans? From Harry Reid's speech on the floor today, the Dems are trying to include CIR provisions in the Fence bill and I am further willing to bet that the Republicans will not let it happen because the house will never agree. So, either they ram it down the Dems throats in an "as-is" condition or forget about a bill being passed before the elections. The answer is obvious.:mad:

Did anyone expect republicans to give up filibuster tactics in finance reform ? -- they did
