My DL was renewed for four years, much beyond my I-94 expiry, both the times...so guys, come on to CA...Golden land of jobs, good weather, cosmopolitan and accomdating/tolerant ppl of all races/religions :-). I am still on H1-B though..

Could someone list the names of senators and house representatives who head the immigration sub committees..each one of us can send web faxes, with varying texts and punch lines, on a daily basis for the next 3 months.
My take is, this year, if we could facilitate the debate on SKIL/DREAM bill, they would pass both floors given the political shift that happended towards the end of year 2006.

suggest you call CIS if you have only have to reschedule your FP. I'm a NSC > CSC >NSC filer, I was out of the country when my FP arrived. So called and rescheduled after returning and received new FP's a week later.
I called them up yesterday and i was kept on hold for around 2:15 hrs before i hung up! the music was not pleasing either! Will give it a try again sometime tomorrow!

After Enron collapsed the auditing firm also went down for shredding the docs ... I bet PWC's shredding machines are working overtime right now.
I would bet that Satyam would be barred/ delisted shortly from nasdaq. SEC will surely take some action.
In a publicly traded company, it is almost impossible for one individual to siphon money.
I guess what might have happened here is, Satyam might have faced falling revenues year-on-year. In a sector, where each competitor is reporting 40% profits, to keep upto the performance of sector, they might have been pressured to falsify their revenues.
Now what i am unable to understand is, how come an esteemed audit org like PWC could cover up or fail to findout discrepancies. Either the auditors were stupid and overlooked, or Mr Ramalinga Raju covered up the tracks very well.
In the end it all hurts the stock holders and the employees. This one is going to go down big time in our history, and i bet its going to change the landscape of our IT services sector.

People do not agree and have different ideas - sometimes to the point of personal hurt! - this is natural. They have different interests and even when they have shared goals, sometimes their paths to those shared goals may diverge - this is natural, too. Yes, differences, discussion and divergence can lead to a final separation and then two or mroe new groups are born - and it can happen naturally and it does not have to be rushed or forced through censorship and persecution. But sometimes debates and differences actually help the whole group to stay together and find a better path or a better solution - in the heat of the discussion and in the fight of the dualling arguments a new idea, approach or solution is born. I do think that a lot of the most contentious discussions on this forum are actually the most important and interesting ones because those are the oens that will cut to the heart of the problem and reveal the real depths of the issues. Suppression of diverging opinions is the hallmark of dictatorships.
I agree with you and its good in many situations, but i think unfortunately this does not apply here... if we are not united and don't march together towards our ultimate goal... it will only make us look disorganized and we will come across as a bunch of self centered highly educated fools who don't care about the big picture.
For those who dont agree with what IV is doing, no one's forcing them to follow what IV does and certainly no ones forcing them to be here, but if you are here then you should at least trust the organization in what they do.
If you have ideas talk to the core and discuss with them in person or call them... i m sure they will be glad to take it up if the idea benefits everyone and not just me or you... breaking off driving folks in different direction is not the solution, it will snow ball into a big problem.

I wouldn't care to much if they steamline the process and make all EB categories "Current". If you submit the right documentation these days i-140 does not take more than an month.
But if the retrogression is like this then as well a retrogressed person does not care as in any case he cannot file together. The only people who are affected is the people who are eligible to apply for both with the PD as current. But how many people are there now in that frame of benefit.
So I really feel it should not bother us too much especially people from India. If I am wrong correct me.

Guys, nothing happens by sulking and it is never easy. Are you so easily giving up the fight for a cause which can impact you in such a positive way? WE HAVE TO KEEP TRYING. As long as there is 1% chance I will keep working to make it 100%. We need to encourage each other and contribute to help IV in its effort and not to be demoralizing for others.

Still haven't had time to even open Photoshop, I'm hoping to get to it tonight. I get my new labtop on monday so I can work on the battles at work also and upload. Isn't it a relief? if the officer calls you for interview, checks your documents and says approved but no GC till PD current? I can live happily with it for couple of years atleast without thinking of GC. The feeling of getting GC in future 100% is almost equal to having GC today. You can change jobs on AC21 without fear and use EAD and AP full force and forget about renewing H1b's
