Over 60% of the US and 90% of Arizona supports the law they passed. Obama and his Attorney General are doing the wrong thing by interfering with state politics. How can these high ranking officials tell state law enforcement NOT TO enforce laws? The Supreme court will favor AZ even before the case starts. Slam Dunk.
Immigration issues are handled by the Federal govt and Arizona is encroaching upon the Fed, and making laws - that is why the Obama govt is calling it unconstitutional.
Secondly, if you want the green card, you better support the feds. Reason, if other states keep passing laws such as AZ, even if nothing happens initially to the legal immigrants - it won't be long before you will be targeted.
Besides, which state law should the USCIS confer to? If your wait is long now, if you believe that USCIS is inefficient - just wait until all the states pass AZ laws..............

I learned that the full committee meeting was scheduled for June 23rd (yesterday). Was it dropped or rescheduled?? Can you give that piece of information?

I am working in tech field doing techie stuff (like System.out.println ;)) I did PMP in Jan 2008.. so far i didnt get a chance to use my PM skills (thanks to USCIS for not giving me GC yet and limiting my ability to look for better job)
I havent done MBA so I did learn few (project) management lessons while preparing for PMP.. although I wouldnt say that real world project management generally follows what is published by PMI
For studying PMP, I would highly recommend reading PMP Prep book by Rita Mulcahy.. I never read PMBOK... Also, give few mock up exams (there are plenty available on net)...
I am preparing for CFA level 1.. and man PMP was much easier! (just comparing one certification to the other - one with 5 books to read and other with only 1 book!)

You are not the only one. I have been waiting for my GC for 8 years now and it is nowhere in sight! I took the plan B (Canada) and became a PR there (it tookj just over a week, without the need for a job and without me leaving the USA, except to "land" there as the final step). Canada is not as bad as people may think. It looks just like the US, in many cases people are way nicer, multiculturalism is encouraged and enshrined in the Canadian constitution (as opposed to assimilation in the U.S.) and you have free healthcare and free social security for life, whether you are employed or not. Finally Canada has consistently ranked as one of the very top places to live worldwide (ranges from 1-5, it is 3rd this year, with U.S. in like #8) and there is so much to do there. Anyway, for a plan B, Canada is quite honestly pretty damn nice.
Trust me buddy - Canada is no heaven. If not USA, lets go back to our home-country - its way, way better. I have worked in Canada for a while (Montreal) and can tell you that it is no America. Not the standard of living, Not the technology, not the people, ofcourse not the weather :-) Just my 2 cents.

There is no definite answer to this question. USCIS is erratic on that. In my opinion, one's case is opened and process starts as soon as the case is Receipt Noticed. In my case, my PD was current since April, but RD was not. As soon as they reached my RD my app was approved. I think that is the general trend. But, they are not consistent on it. Therefore, no definite answer.

it probably means.. they are opening each and every mail they have recived and checking if the docs are in order or not..if they are.. they file it...else they send an RFE...
