I'm also suffering like you for years but doing a RE-FILE just for managing bad odds is not reasonable. If they reject your application - You should be able to resend it from FEDEX/USPS signature and receipt Notice even after Aug 17th.
I'm not a lawyer and i've nothing against Rajaiv Khanna but on a general i'm advising you that " Any lawyer wants their clients case get complicated and convoluted". By doing this you/we are just complicating our case and offering "Money making" potential to already Rich , Wealthy ,Cut throat Lawyers.

I am going to share with you what I have done regarding refilling and why I have done that.
Call me a paranoid or something else but the fact of the matter is that time period between July 2nd and Aug 17th is a golden opportunity that may not present itself for several years now.
Though the chances of my application getting rejected due to mail room error is less but in the game of probability everyone of us stand equal chances of getting hit by a thunder bolt.
Just a side note - They install lightning rod on buildings to protect from lightening even though chances are 1 in 700,000. Well, my odds are much worse than that. Hence, I need to protect myself.
Regarding filling multiple 485 applications, Rajeev Khanna has categorically stated in one of his meetings that he is doing it. And we all know he is a person of good reputation.
There are two scenarios I can think about:
a) My July 2nd is accepted: In such cases either my later filled application is automatically rejected or they will send me a letter asking me to choose one.
Someone on one of his/her post had mentioned about stop payment idea. He may have a point. Call USCIS and you will find out that only thing they will do is reject your application, which is what you want if your earlier application is already in process.
Somebody also stated just like what they did in H-1B cases on 04/02/07, they may reject both applications, well; H-1B case was different due to lottery system.
b) My July 2nd application is rejected: Well, I just protected myself from a thunder bolt.
Having suffered in Green Card race for so long, my risk taking capacity has greatly been reduced. I am not advising or urging anyone to take any action. I am just sharing what I did.

Hospitals will NOT provide medical insurance. They can provide financial assistance based on your income if you do qualify. Usually it is a payment plan after some discounts on the total cost of the care provided.
Secondly if you are looking for maternity coverage after getting pregnant the premiums are going to be high, and mostly the insurance companies deny coverage.
Thirdly i would check with your local medicaid office which on occasion do provide emergency maternity coverage even for legal immigrants in some states.
Medicaid, I believe I don't quality because of my pay.
I am looking for some payment options from Hospitals which take care from prenatal to Delivery. I have individual insurance but, that would not cover maternity insurance. In Texas you would not get individual insurance with maternity.
But I have learn't that when you have individual insurance would cover all complications of delivery, including new born baby, but not regular delivery charges.
I hope some one on this forum would have some good information which would be helpful to me.

Lot of people love him. They believe him, his expressions, his anger, he manages to get the fire out of people using his rants.
If there is a media drive, I am sure other media will love to rape him and that may work against CNN and CNN will start watching things closely.
This can be just a start but I think we must target this guy - I am sure he will start turning tables and flip flop ...
Remember, America is all about law suits and every corporate makes itself immune from Lawsuit but youtube, google, internet and media is something they cannot immune themsleves from.

please be more precise. when you transfered and when did you file your 485 with company A or B.

I know after we file the i-485 for 180 days, we can change our jobs. But rule is that the new job should be in the same field as the old one.
Can i change my job from a biological researcher to a biostatistician? My current job is in the field of biology, which involves lots of experiments. If I change my job to a biostatistician, which is like a programmer, do i still qualify the "similar filed" rule? thanks for your help!
Requirements to change employer when GC is pending:
- I-140 should be approved
- More than 180 days should have passed after filing I-485. The clock for 180 days starts from 485 receipt.
- Approved EAD
Significance of 180 days barrier
If you have approved I-140 and EAD, you can change employer without having to wait for 180 days. But then your employer can revoke the I-140 which invalidates the 485 application. After 180 days from I-485 receipt, I-140 cannot be revoked so that is why it is always recommended to invoke AC-21 after 180 days from the 485 receipt.

It is best to not to change to an employer offering you anything less than the wage rate specified in the GC labor certification. It is hard to resist 20-30K higher salary, but one would have to resist the temptation for taking the job offering higher salary. Otherwise, there is a risk of USCIS denying the GC application.
USCIS doesn�t account for dollar appreciation or devaluation. USCIS also doesn�t account for annual inflation when calculating the wage rate. So even if your labor certification was applied in 2003, you still have to continue at the job with the salary specified in the GC labor certification. We are not sure of the chronology of events such as your wife's pregnancy, Your job change, your insurance start date. If you guys had individual insurance before your wife's conceiving, insurance cannot deny coverage as pre existing condition. Make sure you put these events in a time line and rule out the possibility of coverage. if you have done so, you have to explore other options.

What he/she is doing is legal. Unless this offer involved payment for labor substituion, in which case its illegal. But good luck trying to prove it. Ever heard of wage kickbacks?
I understand your anger but NO ONE can stop this since its totally legal and if there is a financial transaction, no one will be able to prove it. My only hope is this guy/gal gets his/her employer to use his/her own lawyer instead of company lawyer so that he has control over his case. I think this has a better chance than rest of other EB bills, because US wants more skilled persons and by defintion advanced degree holders from US in STEM are. Congress extended 20,000 H1 visa for US masters and PhD graduates some years ago whereas they were and are loathe to extend the total H1 numbers.
Going by this logic, I think this bill will go farther and gain traction. Lets's keep our fingers crossed.:)
In one stroke, this bill helps both a) US advanced degree graduates and b)non US graduates (i.e, EB applicants), as 1) it puts EB1 and EB2 in non quota category (I,C,P,M and ROW) and 2) frees up EB1 and EB2 numbers for EB3.

Come on we need to learn to forget the cold war days. This is 21st century and the age of facebook and other social networking platforms. the world is getting more connected and there will soon be no place for fighter planes any more. What we need is "food" and "water".....
Nature is showing us again and again the futility of our ambitions (regional and international) through her rather quite infrequent thrashings these days....
296 people perished this week in terrible tornadoes (worst in last 40 years!!!).....10000 or more a month ago in Japan earthquake (5th worst ever recorded!!!)....

After I heard from the Infopass IO that my case is all set and it is sitting in the NSC examination room, I have been trying my best to get my file to the attention of an IO at NSC. This is what I have done till now. Don't know if this would work. If not, what the heck?
1. Wrote to my state's senators
2. Wrote to Ombudsman
3. Wrote to my Congressman
4. Wrote to the President
5. Have opened a SR
6. My attorney is taking an Infopass appointment to see why it is stuck.
